This Activity Wall Board shows 5 colourful caterpillars. There are 15 coloured jewelled counters in 5 colours, and these are secured on sliders enabling children to move pieces to wherever they are needed (but they cannot be removed). There are 5 different representations of the numbers 1 to 5 shown by these illustrated caterpillars including numbers, fingers, lines, blocks and dots. On the left-hand half of the board there are number sliders to set the challenge using a task bar and children can engage in open-ended play or more formally begin to use the board to gain a structured approach to counting-up and down to 5 by sliding the jewels to the correct location. Great fun and full of focused learning.
